Education and Training
Dr. Strock graduated from Amherst College before earning his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He remained at UTMB to complete residencies in surgery and plastic surgery and later served as assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery.
While serving on the UTMB faculty, Dr. Strock focused his efforts on cosmetic face and breast surgery in addition to reconstructive breast surgery.
Surgical Expertise
Dr. Strock is an international authority on transaxillary endoscopic breast augmentation – a technique that involves making a small incision in the armpit, creating a tissue pocket with the aid of an endoscope, and then inserting a breast implant either behind or in front of the pectoral muscle. This approach allows for breast implants to be placed with no incisions on the breast. He first used endoscopic techniques at UTMB in 1996 for the placement of saline breast implants through a one-inch armpit incision, for rejuvenation of the upper face and brow, and for mobilization of muscle flaps used for reconstruction in patients with breast cancer. Since then, he has refined his transaxillary breast augmentation technique to allow for the precise placement of round gel and shaped “gummy bear” gel implants with no incisions on the breast.
He is also widely known as an expert in breast implant replacement, and has extensive experience in helping breast implant patients who need additional procedures to improve and restore optimal appearance of their previously augmented breasts. In addition to breast augmentation, Dr. Strock is highly experienced using minimal incision techniques for breast lifts and rejuvenation of the upper face, brow, and eyelid areas.
