“I have been impressed by Dr. Strock, as well as his office staff.”

“I initially went to Dr. Strock 15 years ago to have implants placed and had a wonderful experience, was very happy with the results, and never had an issue; however I came to a point in my life where I no longer wanted implants. After my first experience with Dr. Strock and his staff, he was my obvious first choice to do the second procedure. I consulted with him and decided that I not only wanted the implants removed but also wanted a breast lift. I am now 7 months post-op and am thrilled with the results…much better than I’d anticipated!!! I highly recommend Dr. Strock…he and his staff have been fantastic through every step of my journey.”

Breast Lift or Breast Augmentation?

A breast lift elevates and reshapes the breasts, giving them a higher position and a more youthful appearance. Breast augmentation, on the other hand, creates volume and projection, and in some cases, breast implants alone can also improve a very small degree of sagging.

Dr. Strock uses his experience and expertise to recommend the best surgical approach for each case. Whether your breasts have lost volume after pregnancy or weight loss, or just have a low position, you may work with Dr. Strock to decide to combine a breast lift with breast augmentation.

This combination is known as a breast lift with implants, or a breast augmentation with lift. It is ideal for cases when a patient desires more volume or needs more volume to improve the appearance and shape of the breast. During this combination procedure, breast implants are added, and excess tissue is removed.

A breast lift without implants, however, is still a very effective procedure that creates very natural results and is the ideal choice for many patients.

Breast Lift Procedure

For patients who need a breast lift, also known as a mastopexy, Dr. Strock can enhance breast shape using incisions that alter the skin envelope and elevate the nipple to a position that’s more aesthetically pleasing about the base of the breast. A patient’s aesthetic goals can often be accomplished using surgical approaches that limit the incisions and scarring compared to traditional mastopexy techniques.

These approaches include:

  • Periareolar lift: Dr. Strock makes the incisions around the areola (the darker skin surrounding the nipple). This can be an excellent option for patients with mildly low breast positions. This is usually combined with implants.
  • Vertical lift: In addition to the incision made around the areola, a second incision extends vertically down from the areola to the base of the breast. This is sometimes referred to as a “lollipop” lift, adds a powerful lift effect, and is appropriate for patients with low breast tissue and nipple position.
  • Traditional lift: For breasts with very low breast tissue and nipple position, a horizontal incision made in the crease of the breast is added to the incisions described above. The shape of the incisions resembles an anchor, which is why this is often referred to as an “anchor lift.” This incision pattern allows for the greatest degree of tightening, lifting, and reshaping.
