Customizing Your Procedure

Both conventional and ultrasonic liposuction methods use a modified “tumescent” or superwet technique, during which Dr. Strock uses large amounts of diluted local anesthetic solution to pretreat the fatty deposits prior to surgical removal. Most liposuction procedures, other than small areas, are performed under general anesthesia to allow for safe monitoring and position changes intraoperatively that allow for optimal results. Liposuction is often combined with breast enhancement or other body contouring procedures.

Recent advances in technology have allowed for the possibility of using the fat removed during liposuction to add volume elsewhere, most commonly to the breast or face.

Postoperative recovery following liposuction entails a short period of activity restriction and a pressure garment to be worn for about 4 weeks.
