Breast Reconstruction - Case 4
Immediate Tissue Expander Implant
This patient is a 48 year old woman who presented with adenocarcinoma of the breast.
She elected to undergo tissue expander placement at the time of mastectomy. The
first pair of pictures shows a preoperative view, and one following expansion prepared
for a second stage procedure to place the permanent implant and modify the other
breast to attempt to improve symmetry. The second pair of pictures shows the result
following permanent implant placement, modification of the other breast, and nipple
areolar reconstruction.
